Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

A Cup of Espresso

After dinner or after lunch, a cup of espresso is often the best way to end the meal. We have a regular manual espresso maker which makes a good cup. We prefer to serve it with a cube of sugar and a bit of lemon peel to squeeze into the inky dark coffee.

We also have a couple of sets of china demitasse or espresso cups to pour the coffee in. And wee spoons to stir the sugar into the coffee.
The very best way to end a luncheon -- with a cup of hot espresso. Whether it is for one. . .

or four!
