It's once again Friday and time for "Friends, Food and Fun" at
Designs by Gollum. Come over and check out all of the other delicious offerings. The theme this week is cakes.

Anything chocolate is good and this single layer cake, chocolate almond cake, is a winner. A very special occasion cake it is.

Frosted with butter and chocolate glaze it makes a special desser for a special meal.

Because it is so rich, it can be sliced into 12 slivers which makes a perfect serving for even the most serious chocoholic.

Oh! My! Goodness! I had to wipe the slobber off my monitor! I'm getting a sugar rush and a chocolate high just looking at the photo!
And to think...I'm making a banana pudding tomorrow. Hmmm....wonder if I can sneak some cocoa into it? ;o)
Chocolate banana pudding sounds good to me!
I probably should not be reading these posts tonight..now I'm having sugar/chocolate cravings. I am certain 1/12 would not be enough for me :)
Good grief...this looks sooooo luscious.!!
This cake speaks to my chocoholic soul...I love a dense, rich cake like this! Oh, thank you, thank you--this is a divine keeper of a cake.
This is beautiful. Of course, I am a chocoholic, so I think anything chocolate looks wonderful, but I am wanting a piece of that cake so badly (Almonds are a fav of mine too). laurie

Oh, my goodness. That looks wonderful.
Oh this looks like a full chocolate delight!
Oh dear - that looks like a serious chocolate cake. So often I'll look at something chocolatey and wonder 'Is it worth eating? Is it really chocolatey?'This would pass the test I'm sure!
On another note, I fear that I've become addicted to your blog and that it will wreak havoc with my waistline.
I'm going to have to make that cake...I love chocolate cake! Liz
Oh my, now I am really living vicariously through your blog -- look at that cake! Be still, my heart!
And thank you, Martha, for your kind sympathy over the loss of our little dog Connie. She leaves a hole in our hearts, but I'm glad we were able to know and love her for her last years.

I am going nuts as I do not have one piece of chocolate in my house tonight and after seeing this post I am craving some of this cake or any other chocolate. I made your recipe of the orange rice salad this week for my cooking light club (see post this week and photo) and everyone loved it ...so thank you. Happy Mother's day.
