Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

A Capital Three

It's Three or More Tuesday hosted by Tam at The Gypsy's Corner. Come see what other three's there will be this Tuesday!

We left Linderhof and the prairie and headed north over the holiday weekend. Arriving in Minnesota in time for celebrations for the Fourth of July.

And we had a "Capital" time -- for we visited the . . .
Minnesota State Capital in St. Paul. A beautiful capital in the heart of a very busy city.

And on the way home, we stopped off in Des Moines . . . .
To visit the Iowa state capital. Fond memories of the capital include the summer that Daughter Sarah worked in Des Moines and from her apartment window you could see the capital -- it was especially awesome at night with the lights shining on it.

And then we took a detour far into Missouri and the town of Jefferson City . . . .
Where we visited the Missouri state capital. With the most amazing mural by Thomas Hart Benton Here.

It was a Capital trip and we had a grand time at three of our State Capitals.

It's so interesting to visit the various historic sites in our wonderful country. You did really well to visit 3 state capitals in one trip.

The architecture is amazing in these stately buildings. They put a lot of $$$ into them and used the best architects.
How interesting.

There's nothing like a road trip! We once did that from Ontario to British Columbi and visited all the provincial capitals - Toronto, Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton and finally Victoria, which we now call home.

What an interesting trip, Martha. I don't think I have seen any capitals other than in Illinois. It sounds like you had a great road trip!!
