Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Three Women and an Oven Treat

Yesterday, I went with more friends to see again, Julie and Julia. On the way home, we stopped at a wonderful bakery -- Three Women and an Oven.

My treat, an Almond Joy Bar.

Today was a hectic morning, a light lunch and so my afternoon treat was my hoarded Almond Joy Bar from Three Women and an Oven Bakery and a cup of almond tea.
Everyday, we use our blue and white English dishes -- some transferware -- some not. Some Spode -- some Indies. And since it was a "blue Wednesday", a blue and white toile tablecloth and a blue and white jacquard napkin -- in a silver napkin ring, of course! And one of my English pastry forks so that I could eat the bar daintily.
The bar was delicious -- made my horrid morning seem less so.

It's Thursday and time for Tablescape Thursday. One of my FAVORITE days of the week. Join Susan and everyone else over at Between Naps on the Porch and see what everyone has done with their table!

Yes, I'm really into blue and white this week. I'm glad that you use your beautiful dishes. Look like a delightful tea for one. I do that a lot.

I could, quite happily, eat every meal in a blue and white setting. Could anyone else smell that almond tea?

Your blue and white are lovely! Didn't you just adore the movie? I laughed and laughed! I'm doing a post next TT as a tribute to Julia Child. Please stop by for a visit.

Happy Tablescape Thursday and hope to see you at my place this week to toast Susan on her anniversary.

I think I may have to put blue and white dishes on my Christmas wish list--I suffer from envy every time I see a lovely table like this :) I love the toile cloth too! ....sigh

Hi Martha,
Your blue table setting seems as soothing as it is beautiful! I very much enjoyed J&J too ... it's not often I can say I liked every single moment of a film.

Your tomato festival post was fascinating! Congratulations on being invited to be guest chef (that means you were the Star, right?) and on the success of the event!
