Not us, but our computer. Wednesday evening when I came home, husband Jim was on the couch -- with a frown.
"The computer" he said "had another virus" . . .
So I did not get to post my Tablescape Thursday post -- sigh!
We took the computer to the computer hospital Thursday afternoon.
Friday, we learned the diagnosis -- H1N1 --
The computer was "terminal".
And, alas, no health insurance either!
So yesterday, we "traded" in our PC for a Mac.
We are adjusting . . . I did manage to get it up and running all by myself!
But I have no pictures -- they're on the computer that is in the hospital (and hopefully, we'll be able to get them and other things off.)
And I don't know how to post pictures with the Mac -- learning curve I haven't accomplished yet.
Hopefully, the computer situation will be back to normal by the first of the week and my "Lines from Linderhof" posts will return to normal.
In the meantime, have a nice Labor Day weekend!

Everything will work out and a year from now, this will just be a vague memory...
I don't think this makes you feel better!

I am a Mac user, and I can tell you that you are in for a treat. It's MUCH easier to use and you will ❤ it!

Good luck with the recuperation and recovery!
The Great Dane bought me a new laptop and I'm still using the old one because I have no patience with learning what I need to know for the new one. Sigh........one of these days.
Hi Martha--
Hope all is well soon with your computer! Nothing like an interuption to mess up your world.
Try to have a good rest of the weekend!
Melinda
I'm so sorry about your computer. I will be interested to hear how you like our new Mac!
What a mess! I wondered where you were. I have been wanting a mac, but alas, my computer limps on. :)
I was talking to Jacki Prettyman this week and she told me she makes her own vanilla, the way you told her to. Could you post how?
:)
Thanks!
I know that heart-sinking feeling you get when it seems all has disappeared in the foggy afterlife of a computer. Holding all your photos hostage and leaving you Tablescape-less! I feel your pain, hon!

You will LOVE your new Mac. Use iPhoto for your photos. The new version exports directly to Flickr, but if you don't use Flickr, just use Export under the File menu. I let iPhoto resize my photos to a maximum dimension of 640 pixels and use the sequential feature to rename my photos (bath1, bath2, etc.) There are lots of tutorials on the apple website and the folks at the Apple store will walk you through things and even have classes... but Macs are so easy!
Two things I really hate are Computer problems and car problems -- I'm helpless with both! Hope you're up and running showing us your lovely posts soon! Thanks for your kind visit today.
Sorry about your computer! I hope you have a nice Labor Day! I'm making a visit to all the Martha's I find today!
I'm sorry to hear about your computer, but hey, you bought a mac ... that's a good thing! I don't have one, but I'm tempted to switch over when ours die. I have spoken to a few mac owners, and it seems macs don't have the problems that PC's do.

Aw...get well soon old computer. Congratulations on your new addition (mac)! I hate when things like that go wrong. I hope you're able to access your old info.
Thanks for stopping by the Fall Festival today and for your sweet comment. :)
Every time I come over to your blog - I can't help but sit and stare at your header. I just love your home!

Oh Gosh! I don't want that to happen to me! I might have to quit blogging rather than learn anything new! laurie
