Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

A small change on the breakfast room table

Bowls of apples are usually on tabletops during the fall. They're make great centerpieces and you can actually smell the apples. Plus, there is no greater fall snack than a crisp juicy apple.

Usually, a bowl of apples are on the breakfast room table. In a blue and white bowl.
But Friday, I got this wonderful arrangement at a favorite place -- Red Cedar in the city. It's a pumpkin form. And it was on sale!
It has a mini white real pumpkin, bittersweet, some hydrangea and some fall leaves.
It's not a Halloween centerpiece but rather a fall one and so it shall remain on the breakfast room table through Thanksgiving. I love the muted colors which seem to go well in the breakfast room.

The apples? They've been moved to the kitchen island. Still handy for a snack.

Please join Susan at Between Naps on the Porch -- It's Met Monday after all -- my transformation is small.

It's nice to shake things up once in a while. The new arrangement is lovely - and because it's real you won't have to store it!

It looks lovely. Is the room cool enough to keep the apples crisp?

The change is very appropriate for a fall look...I'm sure the scent of the apples adds to the warm ambience.
