Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

A Special Day

This Thanksgiving Day marks Husband Jim and my 40th wedding anniversary.

Little did I realize all those years ago that when I was married on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (so I would only have to use 1 day of vacation for five days off) that every five years or so, we would be celebrating our wedding anniversary not with wine and candles but with turkey and family.

A Very Happy Anniversary to my love --

And to the rest . . .

Wishing you and your love a very happy anniversary. This is akin to my anniversary which falls on Dec. 20th. There were many years when the children were samll when we absolutely forgot our anniversary altogether in the midst of preparing for Christmas. But, we are still happily married after 23 years, so I guess it's not so bad.

Blessings,
Christi

Happy anniversary! Change is great! So if one year you have turkey and lots of guests for your anniversary/wedding celebrations, the other 4 you can celebrate quietly, romantically!

Wow 40 years! Could you have imagined, so many years ago, that on your 40th wedding anniversary, you were going to have a blog... a very popular blog,... and that people from far and wide were going to wish you happy? That you were going to use a computer for up to the minute updates?? Do you think the previous generation would have been blown away by the idea? Can you imagine where your children are going to be in another 2 decades!

Enjoy the day...
