Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Tea for Two . . . Or Three. . . Or Four. . .

I love blue and white dishes -- and most of them in the sideboard in the breakfast room are Spode Blue Room -- most of them! It's where I take both my morning and afternoon tea. So the teapots and the tea cups are handy. To be grabbed at a moment's notice when the pot starts to boil.
The teapots from left to right are:

Wedgwood Asiatic Pheasant, Spode Blue Room (a gift from daughter Sarah), a Blue Willow that I brought home from England, and lastly, a Spode Blue Italian (a gift from husband Jim).
The breakfast room sideboard is the perfect place to store the teapots -- they fit perfectly in the bottom shelf -- like they were meant to be.

And the tea cups are behind glass doors to the left of the pots.

It's Monday which means that it's time for Blue Monday at Smiling Sally's. Join her to see what other blues there are this Monday. I, for one, would like to see some blue skies. But, alas, more snow is expected tonight and tomorrow -- which means that our world on the prairie will be white once again!

Beautiful! I love my Spode Blue Room plates - we use them every night. I just think even the simplest meal looks prettier on them.

Hi Martha,
OH MY, this is eye candy! Your sideboard is gorgeous, and then filled with wonderful teapots? Sigh. Just gorgeous!
We're getting more snow today as well. Thank goodness - we really need the moisture, but I'll be out shoveling (probably for days)!
Thank you for leaving me such a sweet comment at my blog - wishing you a very lovely day today!
Hugs,
Zuzu

Such a beautiful collection! I'd be afraid to actually use any of it, though (I'm such a klutz). Hope you get some blue skies very soon!
