A birthday luncheon at Linderhof. A blue and white birthday luncheon at Linderhof.

With a touch of pink in the stargazer lilies that form the centerpiece.

In a great blue vase -- a Christmas gift from a very dear friend who knows me all too well. It goes so perfectly with my Spode!

Since this was a birthday lunch, I did use the Spode, but chose blue linen napkins (that was a great foil for the blue centerpiece) and my "good" flatware.

The white part was an antique white lace tablecloth. A favorite and it makes for a very elegant luncheon table.
The menu for this special birthday luncheon:
Spring Pea Soup
Sarah's Chicken
White and Wild Rice
Rosemary Biscuits
Chocolate Birthday Cake
It's Thursday which means that it is time for Tablescape Thursday so please join Susan at

Your table looks great! I recognize some of the food from your menu as ones you have shown here in the past. Have you already posted the recipe for Rosemary biscuits?
Lovely table, Martha. You do blue and white as well as anyone I know!

O, Martha...Your's is the one I choose first most Thursdays..your table always is so pretty.
And, it never fails...when I come over, I get a picture of a jar of apricots, sitting on a dark shelf somewhere, turning into the most delightful apricot brandy. OMYGOSH!! :))

It looks great with your blue and white Spode if I do say so myself. Beautiful tablesetting. I have prepared Sarah's Chicken many times and love the recipe. What a wonderful luncheon menu and I am sure the birthday girl was most appreciative. Oh how I wish I could be a guest at one of your luncheons.

You can't go wrong with blue and white...or Spode. Is that the Greek pattern? I love the blue centerpiece/vase. That's stunning. Your table is very elegant!

Love those plates and the vase too! Beautiful blue and white!!
Beautiful combination of blues. Beautiful and inviting.
Thank you very much for visiting my site and for your friendly comment.
I adore your setting. The cyan blue colour of the vase, the spode platters and the napkins combined with the lace tablecloth makes a very elegant tablescape. This type of vase reminds me on this old kind of vases for tulips. What a nice contrast this delicate pink lilies in the blue vase. I enjoyed it very much.
And I wish HAPPY BIRTSDAY to the birthsday boy/girl.
Nice greetings, Johanna
