Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Looking Towards Summer

I got out in the garden a bit yesterday . . . a mound of sunflower seed shells were swept up. I can see the results of feeding 50 pounds of black sunflower every three weeks. A black trash bag full!

I pulled annuals that didn't get pulled last fall -- that provided seed or perch for our bird friend in the winter.

An old friend that I was sorry to see go was this . . .

Lovely Begonia

It is in a concrete planter so there was no way that it could come inside -- even if I had room for it -- one would need a crane to life it in!!!!!
It was a lovely shade of pink and bloomed and bloomed all summer long. I was sorry to see this friend go last fall.

It's Saturday which means that it's Pink Saturday. Please join Beverly at How Sweet the Sound to see the other "pinkness" this Satuarday!

I love begonias, Martha. Sadly, it seems they did better in NY than here in NC. I keep trying to find just the right spot
