But this year, I've split them up and in April I taught the gardening part of herbs and on May 6, I taught the cooking part of herbs!
At our favorite cooking store on the prairie, Life + Style , is where I taught a class on May 6 on cooking with herbs!
Classes should be show and tell so I always bring things along. In the jars from left to right is lavender sugar, rosemary salt, rose geranium sugar and tarragon vinegar. My thyme in a jar as well as my thymely rabbit and a big bunch of herbs from the garden (which were to be used in class!)
I'm scheduled to teach another class there on May 20th and in between I'm doing another herb cooking class in Louisburg, Kansas on Saturday, May 15.
It's fun to cook with herbs and it's not rocket science.
Join me either on May 15 at Louisburg or May 20 at Fort Scott to see how you can cook with herbs!

I wish I could join you!It sounds like a great class!
You are such an inspiration. This year I am program chair for my garden circle and had a little glitch for April of next year. I wanted to do one on Herbs and spoke to a garden circle chair who had had a guest speaker at their circle this year who spoke to them on Herbs. I had called her to find out if it was well recieived. After speaking to her first one thing and then another she told me that I should do the lecture on Herbs. Wellllllll, I thought about it and decided that I could indeed do that soooooooo I will do our program next April for my garden circle on Cooking with Herbs. Now, I am going to rely on you for all the input you can share. Oh how I wish I could attend one of your programs.

Oh, now see that is why you have that little book I like so much. I have it too and I love to cook with herbs! That is funny you said "It's not rocket science." My husband tells me that a lot!
Martha.....This sounds like a great class, wish I lived closer so I could attend. I still have my herb garden to plant this year, but it has been so chilly that I'm waiting for some warm temperatures to appear. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds like fun classes!
I'd LOVE to be there- teaching cooking classes is one of my favorite things to do!

I planted some herbs yesterday... cinnamon basil, lemon basil, rosemary, parsley, cilantro.. the basics. I wish I was close enough to attend your classes, but since I'm not, I'm hoping for some recipes on your blog.
I too wish I was closer. I would love to take your cooking with herb class. How about if you put it on video and then post it on your blog?
I'd love to do that but somehow we're technically challenged here on the prairie!
It was wonderful meeting you at WS a few days ago! Thank you for sharing your blog with me. I will enoy following you.
