Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Pink Roses Abound at Linderhof

Pink roses abound at Linderhof. It seems as if whenever I buy a rose it is pink!!! This darling fragrant pink rose over the arbor in the garden.
It's a pretty rose as well as a fragrant rose. This year it was so prolific in bloom that bouquets were brought inside for the breakfast room table.
My Seattle rose. It's small but wonderfully fragrant. It's a sweet rose and I think it may be a bit too shady for it where it is planted but I hate to disturb it because it is so happy!
And, of course, my pride and joy -- the William Baffin -- it's a prolific bloomer and will come back with a small burst of bloom in late August or early September.
It's a darling rose and although it isn't fragrant, it's leaves do make a wonderful potpourri.

I love rose season. Linderhof is full of blooms of my mostly pink roses. I'm not sure why I'm drawn to the pink ones, but I am . . . but, shhh! -- don't tell, my latest rose is yellow!!! (One of the Knock Out ones -- and it's fragrant!)

It's Saturday which means that it's time to join Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. See what other pinks there are this Saturday!!!

Gorgeous, all of them. I am looking forward to seeing roses bloom at Pondside this year too - thanks to the deer fence!

So gorgeous Martha - I've got a million things to tie up in my garden, and quite a bit to separate. All after just one year! Who would have known!?!? Oh, and the SLUGS ARE BACK! UGUAGHAGAHGAGHH! I'll post (probably Sunday about the garden - and start up Share a Garden again!) I hope you'll play along!

My grandmother adored roses and passed it on to me. Here in NC, we battle insects I've never seen before and the everpresent deer marauders (the deer NEVER touched my roses in NY!) Those are so, so pretty Martha

My roses are the most beautiful they have been in years. I am sure it's all the wetness we had during the winter and spring.
I have pinks and corals....your pinks are beautiful.

Lovely pink roses - I love them too - though I don't have any yet. I just found the most fabulous spray - Liquid Fence - all natural - and it does actually keep the deer from munching on my yard - so I'm off to buy some rose bushes.
