Our squirrels are brown squirrels and Daughter Sarah comments that even though squirrels are cute, they are still rodents but with fluffy tails!
We' ve never named them and we don't know if one day to the next it really is the same squirrel. But we enjoy the squirrels as much as the birds and don't mind the bit of seed that they eat. (Well, bit is actually not a correct term -- they can empty this feeder in one sitting!)
Outdoors at Linderhof is now seen only from Indoors (and will be for a while until my knee is healed) -- but the breakfast room gives us great vistas to the back garden and even though we are indoors, it does seem you are surrounded by outdoors.
It's Wednesday and what better time than to visit Susan at A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday!

In complete agreement with daughter Sarah!!! Cute rats! Bunnies, on the other hand, always welcome and we are having a banner year for bunnies! I sincerely hope your recovery is going well and you are sitting back watching the world go by in the backyard with a tasty nosh and a cup o ICED tea.
Martha, hope you have a speedy recovery! We have many squirrels at The Blue Cottage. It is funny but they will sit on a limb or perch upside down on tree and look in our bay windows to "watch" us! Ha! If we move to a window on the other side of the room, they will come to a tree on the other side and look in again at us. Wierd little animals!
I wish you well in your continued healing. Great shot of the squirrel. We've found that racoons and cats love our compost...and garden.
Martha.....Hope you are feeling better. Love your pics of the squirrel. I have a whole Squirrel Village in my backyard..... but it's partly my fault as i put peanuts out all the time and they also do love birdseeds, but mostly I have these huge crab/apple trees and they serve as a buffett for a variety of city creatures.
Aren't those squirrels just like little pickpockets!?
It's a good thing you have enough seed for the birds too!
Oh I love squirrels! They are so cute! I hope you heal quickly!
Hugs,
Jacalyn
I'm sending wishes for a speedy recovery - one that will let you go out to your beautiful garden for a cup of tea. I hope the day treats you well. Blessings...Mary
Hello Martha,
I wish you a speedy recovery so you may get back outside and enjoy your lovely garden. I know squirrels are rodents, but they are so adorable and so much fun to watch.

Oh Martha, I agree with YOU -- those squirrels have a right to snacks, too. Now... the chipmunks feasting on our beautiful tomatoes are another story!
Hope your knee heals quickly and perfectly. Knees are not Mother Nature's most perfect design!
Feel better, and get waited on as much as possible!
Cass
I wish you a quick recovery. I enjoyed the photos of the squirrel and feeder. They seem to love my bird feeders too.
