Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Sailor's Delight

The old poem goes like this . . . .

Pink Sky at Morning . . .

Sailor's Take Warning.

Pink Sky at Night . . .

Sailor's Delight!

It's been delightful weather on the prairie and we've had the prettiest pink skies as the sun sets. I thought of the old poem and how true it is.

It's Pink Satuarday so please join Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for other pink posts.

Beautiful. My dad who used to be a roofer has his own version of the poem. You are right... the poem is so true. Beautiful sky!

We have our red skies in the summer. They are very rare at this time of year. Such a beautiful prairie sky you've featured.

Martha, You have captured an amazing photo. Walter always repeats that poem when we are down at the beach and he is planning to go fishing. It is very familiar to me.

Martha,
Lovely prairie sky with all the deep pink and purple hues! One of my favorite times of day is morning. . .when the sun comes up in Kansas "like a red rubber ball".
Fondly,
Pat
