At Nebraska Furniture (which has every kind of stove manufactured), we were looking at the GE and Westinghouse . . . and then I turned the corner and there, right there, were the professional series of home stoves.
I never looked back and knew that in my heart was the only kind of stove that I wanted.
We looked at different brands and finally settled on the Thermador. The Stove was paid for with money that I had earned doing luncheons and teas -- a bit here and a bit there. It gives you some satisfaction to save for something you truly want.
We looked at prices and found the best price on the internet -- and they delivered and put in place!!!! No shipping either and no sales tax! It was a very good deal.
And it came -- on St. Patrick's Day 2004. Early enough so that we were able to cook the ritual corned beef on Stove and invited company to boot!
I loved Stove when I bought it and I still love Stove.
Linderhof's kitchen is small and Stove is a commanding presence in that little room. But I cannot think of cooking on anything but Stove!
It is one of my favorite things in the kitchen at Linderhof!!!
It's Saturday and so please join Laurie at Bargain Hunting With Laurie for Favorite Things Saturday!
Does anyone else think their stove is a favorite thing?

When I was young, my parents' kitchen range had the controls along the front like that. Of course it wasn't a fancy smancy Stove, but it was very serviceable and lasted for more than 40 years of their marriage.
Anyway, dad was a pastor and we lived in a parsonage. Our people at that particular church felt that since they OWNED the parsonage they could schedule Sunday School classes to be held there for which there were no free rooms available in the church. And, since our house was right next door to the church - - - it was doable.
Now, the ONLY bathroom in that house was a tiny little closet and the only way to get to it was to go through the kitchen.
Many is the Sunday that we came home from church to find a BURNED dinner because someone, in passing by the range and brushed the oven control up to a very high temperature.
Only once did we have COMPANY coming for dinner and the "brushing" went the OTHER way and we came home to find RAW dinner.
Back in those days (50's) few people ATE OUT, especially on Sunday, but we did THAT day.
Wow, that is a great stove. Hmm, someday...
She's a real beut!!! I love my pro range too, not a therm, but still, I love it!!

That's a wonderful stove. And, I think it is well matched to you because you are such a talented cook. It's great that you appreciate it as much now as when it arrived.
Have a good weekend!
Oh now that's a stove and so my dream. Love it. I think I would just sit and stare. Hugs, Marty
I don't have a "Stove" but a Wolf gas cooktop and I love it. It too is my most favorite thing in my kitchen. When we did our kitchen redo I had my heart set on the Wolf and I have never regretted the decision. DH tried to talk me out of it but now he is glad I stuck to my guns. Your "Stove" is handsome for sure.

What a beauty! Simply gorgeous and so deserved. Your calling it Stove, reminds me of the movie Shirley Valentine when she talks to Wall above her stove. Great movie!
You kitchen is so nice and what a GREAT stove! We will be remodeling our kitchen and I'm sure it will be hard choosing the "right" stove!
Looks fabulous!
DB -- I loved the movie Shirley Valentine --

my oven is dying slowly and am waiting to buy my dream, a jenn aire that I have had my eye on but may need to do some research on your stove!
Now that's a stove to cook on! Wow; I can only dream---love that kitchen. Have a great weekend. Patty
Stove is a beauty! I'd love to have its cousin in my kitchen. We cook with gas, but it's propane, not natural gas. Perhaps when our unit goes I'll manage to find something as dignified as Stove.
Martha, I think Stove is a wonderful thing to have for your favourite!
Martha,
Stove is beautiful! Gas IS the ONLY way to cook. Unfortunately I live in an area where owning a gas Stove is frowned upon. . .therefore I do the best I can with electric.
Fondly,
Pat
Oh to own such a wonderful STOVE!
I didn't see a picture of your stove (wasn't sure if you posted one as sometimes I can't see all posted pics). Although mine is not as luxurious .. nor a pro line .. I enjoy using my Jenn-Air range. It has a bread proofing setting, a dehydrator, a salamander toaster/mini oven, duel fuel, standard/convection large oven with convection roast/convection bake settings.
I do love my new stove. But I think Stove is much better and that I would prefer your Stove to my stove.
I can see why it is a favorite~ it's a real beauty, and from what I've seen of the food you cook, it is a good stove too. Thanks for linking to Favorite Things. laurie
