Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

A Royal Wedding Watch Party

I'm doing what everyone else not only in America but in the world is doing today - - - watching the Royal Wedding!

But not just watching, it's also a great time . . .

For tea!!!! A silver tray (it is the Royal Wedding, after all), an English silver teapot, and a Spode cup and saucer and a plate of cookies.

The tray on the end table in the living room so that I can put my feet up as I watch the festivities!

While I sip tea and munch on lavender shortbread -- imprinted with "Wills & Kate"!!!!

I do hope everyone had a grand time watching the wedding today. All of the pomp and circumstance that the British Royalty do so well.

We, at Linderhof, wish the bride and groom the best.

You were more "proper" than I. However, it was fun sipping coffee and viewing the festivities. I was in my nightgown and snuggie socks and hatless. They are a beautiful couple. I wish them all the best and some semblance of privacy from time to time. I think England is so in love with them that they'll follow their every move. It's a beautifully difficult life for the "royals".

I loved the wedding.
Modern, but dignified. I hope that becomes stylish again.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Royal Wedding over and over again. I thought Kate was stunning and Prince William so handsome. LOVE your shortbread cookies.

hearing about Will's favourite cake made me wonder what type of biscuits would be in it....

As I viewed the Royal Wedding, I was so amazed at the composure of this lovely young couple. So elegant and stylish! I will continue to watch their future together.
