Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Saturday's Breakfast

 One advantage of a dinner party . . .

is two bouquets for the dining room mantle -- bringing a bit of Fall to that side of the room.

* * * * *
Saturday Mornings from May through October
finds us out of the house before 8 a.m.
as we head for the Farmer's Market

Come November . . .

Saturday breakfast is at Linderhof . . .
in the "breakfast room"

With flowers (or fruit) on the table

And our breakfast, unlike our weekday one

is based on bacon and eggs.
Sauteed sweet potatoes are added this particular Saturday
And toast . . .

On Saturday we always have a "guest"

Who waits for a handout.

And Husband Jim obliges.

The face of a happy corgi
Who's had a treat or two at the breakfast table.

Human food, after all, is so much better than that "doggy" stuff!

Martha,
YuM!!!
Tomorrow's breakfast is bacon, fried egg and cheese on a crossiant. Baked in the oven about 10 minutes! Orange Juice, coffee and conversation! I'm sure we'll have squirrel antics for entertainment. Such is life On Crooked Creek! Love seeing Jim give Dolly a hand out!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Lovely photo of your corgi. I think men must be softer touches than women - Bilbo Baggins always gets bits from my DH whereas I don't give him anything so these days he doesn't even bother asking:)

Sauteed sweet potatoes!?! Sounds yummy. I'll have to try it.

(We're headed to KS on Monday - will travel by train. Looking forward to seeing our daughter and family in McPherson with maybe a quick trip to Sterling relatives in our short time there.)
