Birthdays are special.
And as one gets older it isn't birth "days" but birth "weeks" as our celebration
turns from a one day party into a week of special parties and luncheons.
Being a woman, however, means that there is no birthday cake.
Unless one wants to bake one's on (which I don't)
And so, friend Joyce, came to the rescue
When she took me out for lunch
And I took home a slice of cake -- for later!
Later was a later afternoon tea.
A tea of friends.
I enjoyed my cake
while reading a birthday gift book
And sipping a birthday gift tea
The cake -- carrot cake
From a favorite restaurant, The Bristol Bar and Grill
The tea
a gift from another friend
Stash Ginger Lemon Green Tea
And even though it was an afternoon tea for one
I was surrounded by good friends

Martha,
Yes. . .as women, we are often left to make our own cake! What a special birthday cake and treat for Tea!
Fondly,

Sometimes a few moments of solitude can be a gift unto itself. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
