Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Frosty The Cupcake . . .

Is a Jolly Holly Elf.

Frosty

Is joined by a small army of Snowmen

Who all get captured and put into a cello bag, tied with a red ribbon

And plopped in a basket
And taken away . . .

To be party favors for a birthday luncheon.

It was my treat for the guests at our Wednesday Birthday Luncheon Group.
I was the honoree . . . but everyone got a cupcake
(and a slice of real cake)
to take home . . . for themselves . . . for their husband or for their grandchildren!

The cupcakes were easy -- a favorite recipe from Nigella that makes just 12 cupcakes.   I added peppermint extract to the batter before I baked.
I frosted them with cream cheese frosting, sprinkled the frosting with white chocolate sprinkles and plopped the snowman into the "snow".

You could use a cake mix (but it would make 24 cupcakes instead of 12 -- but is that bad?).

It's Friday and I'm sharing Frosty with Michael at Rattlebridge Farm for Foodie Friday.

These are cute and I too like to bake a recipe of 12 cupcakes from scratch.
Hope your birthday luncheon was fun.
