Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW . . . WAIT, IT'S ALMOST MARCH!

It's the last week of February . . .
Winter for the most part has been mild
And then we got snow!!!!

Lots of snow!!!

A really lot of snow!!!

More is predicted!

Sigh!

We'll stay inside
by the fire
put a pot of soup on to simmer

And have a cup of tea to keep us warm!

Books and needlepoint shall keep us occupied
The larder is stocked
We find that Dolly is not a snow dog -- prefering to stay INSIDE!

Winter is giving one last hurrah (we hope)
Before March and a spring to look forward to!

Linderhof looks pretty covered in snow, but everyone is saying how tired they are of it, myself included. Another few weeks and hopefully we can count on spring-like weather and melting snow.

Martha, Linderhof looks like an enchanted land with all the ice on the trees in the pictures! That IS a lot of snow. It was 67 degrees in SC yesterday and all the bulbs in the yards are blooming. Cold day today so it will a good day to stay inside. Soup sounds good! Stay warm!

Yes, that is a lot of snow. To a drought stricken Texan, it is also much needed moisture. And when it melts it will melt into the earth rather than run down the street. Sounds FAB to me even before you get to the sewing part.

Linderhof looks beautiful in snow cover. We only got 6" whereas I heard some of KS and MO ended up with 14". We expect a bit from the next system that moves through, also. A lot of Thursday's snow has melted away already. Enjoy nesting inside by the fire with tea!

Beautiful, and you probably are not tired of it if you've had little. But I'm really eager to head south for a month!
