Not the first meal I've ever fixed for Jim
(alas, there was no blog and no pictures all those years ago)
Nor the first meal I ever fixed at Linderhof
But rather, the first meal I fixed after our Italian vacation
(for I don't count the frozen Trader Joe's meal I fixed last night!)
Instead, breakfast this morning
In the "breakfast" room, of course!
Blue and white for breakfast (of course)
Coffee for Husband Jim
P G Tips for me
A pitcher of "cream" between both for our beverages and for
the steel cut oats to come.
A Spode pitcher filled with blue tinted hydrangeas
(from Trader Joe's)
I especially love blue hydrangeas
(And I must admit at $5.99 they were a splurge -- I usually get the $3.99 flowers)
We've been on a lengthy cruise
And spent two weeks eating Italian
Breakfast once again is steel cut oats
And yogurt with a spoonful of honey for me.
Cups and cups of coffee for Jim
cups and cups of tea for me!
It is nice to be home
It's nice to be cooking again
(even if it is just oatmeal)
And it's Thursday
So I'm sharing my breakfast table -- the first since we left for Italy -- with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday and Kathleen at Kathleen Cuisine for Let's Dish.

There's no place like HOME!
Getting back into a familiar routine is bliss! Your breakfast table is lovely, and you deserve those hydrangeas!
It's always nice to get back after a trip to daily routines.
Wish I could join you for your Easter cooking class, the bunny bread sounds interesting.

Martha,
Ah~h~h...all the comforts of Home, once again!
Love the hydrangea...perfect shade to compliment your lovely blue & white dishes! I'd agree, they were well worth the splurge!!!
Again, welcome home!
Fondly,
Pat
The first meal I ever cooked for my husband was "gigot en croute" -- roast lamb in a pastry crust. I found the in a magazine.
We weren't married yet, and I was not then, nor am I now, a great cook. However, it turned out surprisingly well, and the recipe is still a mainstay of my "for company" meals.
As my daughter says, "You get a lot of bang for your buck on this one!"
Sometimes, fate lends a helping hand ....
So glad you are home from your travels. I'm sure it was a wonderful experience. But there is nothing like travel to appreciate what you have at home. I always come home refreshed and happy with what I have. Cooking my own meals is one of them.
Welcome home. What nicer welcome than a table set with blue and white. The hydrangeas are gorgeous. '-)
Very pretty! Love the hydrangeas!
Glad to have you at Let's Dish!
