Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Treats for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is Friday

Some of the celebrations are before Friday
so I've been busy in the kitchen

Making salted chocolate dipped chocolate truffles
for friends who are special to me

and

my mother's traditional Valentine Day's dessert

Cherry O' Cheese Pie
And old recipe
Eagle milk, cream cheese, lemon juice, vanilla
whipped together
and put into a pie shell
Topped with cherry pie filling!

Not for us . . .
but for church
who's celebrating Valentine's with the
Senior Living Center
tomorrow.

I'm planning my traditional Valentine's Luncheon
for Friday.
Dear friends will share the table with me.

And Friday night, Husband Jim and I
will have a quiet dinner --
just the two of us!
