Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Breakfast On The Porch

Summer weekdays breakfasts are often lazy
Fruit and a muffin or a coffeecake or even cereal

The muffins and coffeecake fresh from the oven

My favorite coffeecake
A sour cream coffeecake with streusel in the middle and on top

A tray set in the kitchen
Coffee for Husband Jim
Tea for me
And a big piece of coffeecake each
The creamer -- for we both take cream in our breakfast beverages

Nuts and cinnamon and sugar in between and on top
of a nice moist sour cream cake

The wicker table between the chairs
Perfect for the breakfast tray!

Cream and tea and coffeecake
Served on a mixture of blue and white!

But there are changes in the porch . . .

A wicker straight chair has been replaced by a teak rocker
A gift for Husband Jim for Father's Day!

It's Tuesday and I'm joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday . . . even though it was really morning and there was coffee involved!!!!

That's OK, Martha. I like my coffee in the morning too. Tea the rest of the day. Your coffee cake looks delish. I haven't made one in a while and it's probably time. Love your blue and white china. It's always fresh and pretty on a table. Thanks for joining me for tea and have a lovely week.

Blessings,
Sandi

That's my kind of breakfast made even more special on the blue and white china. Cinnamon should be part of every breakfast, I think.

You know, Martha, that you will be responsible for a run on cinnamon tomorrow morning!

Your coffee cake sounds like the recipe I use, only mine has blueberries in it too. I've never had it for breakfast though, it is a favourite for dessert.
Your hubby's new chair is nice, hope he enjoys it!

What a wonderful way to have a leisurely breakfast. The coffee cake looks yummy. Your husband's new rocker is a great addition for Father's Day. I hope you take a peek at my Father's Day table posting for your husband might enjoy it. I always think of your town and our visiting it when I see your blog!

Your blue and white dishes are so pretty with the wicker tray. Lucky husband getting such a nice rocker!
