Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

Monday . . .

Wash Day

Sheets basking in the sun
To bring outdoors freshness to the bedroom.

A small clothesline in the back garden
Just long enough to hang the weekly sheets

Most perfect photo to include the baskets as well.

Oh how wonderful! Love the crispness and fresh smell of laundry dried outside. Unfortunately our hoa would not allow us to have a clothesline.
Enjoy!

Martha,
One of the great "joys" I left behind on your side of the Prairie.
Oh how I do love freshly laundered "everything" from the clothesline. Mine held three lines. About 16 feet long. . .but then there were four of us and it took those long lines to hold the bi~weekly laundry!!!
We thought long and hard about putting in a clothesline on this side of the Prairie. Somehow urban life consisting of a busy highway, flight patterns and water treatment plants doesn't have the same "freshness" as Linderhofs Gardens!!!
Fondly,
Pat
