One of the things we liked most about
our visits to Italy
was dining al fresco
They did sometimes eat inside
but all of the restaurants seem to have outside areas
and those were the most crowded
It has been a great summer here
and we've been able to dine in the garden often
(which is really unusual for the prairie in August)
Our garden has two round iron tables
with four chairs each
Perfect for two tables of four, a table for two or
pushed together a table for eight
Italian food, Italian crocheted cloth
A centerpiece of garden geraniums
(purposely bought to dress up the tables when not in use
and as a centerpiece when we do dine there)
My blue and white transfer ware -- of course
And blue and white napkins
Wine to drink
One a Sangiovese
The other French
Dinner was Italian
A Italian sausage ravioli with fresh tomato sauce
Bought on the way home from Costco
because I spent most of the day in the hospital sitting while a niece had surgery
The rest of the dinner was as easy
A roasted garlic bread (also from Costco)
and fresh cantaloupe for dessert!
Dining on Italian fare, in the garden, brings back memories of our trips to Italy.
It's Thursday and I'm joining Susan at Between Naps On the Porch for Tablescape Thursday

Martha, I am ready to have dinner with you! Love dining al fresco, but it is still pretty hot here to do that, unless it is after dark. Your table looks fresh and pretty, and I love the Italian dish. Thanks for the tip that you found it at Costco.
I hope your niece has a swift recovery.
