Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

This is why we plant bulbs in the fall

The breakfast table
with an old blue pitcher filled with tulips
an Asian cup which holds a wee orchid, a Waterford salt and pepper
And the blue lined silver basket full of sugar cubes

Add a pitcher of cream
And the jam jar

And you're ready for breakfast!

Those tulips are beautiful. Love the swirly red on white. I bring a lot of bulb flowers in too.

I went out tonight and started planting some of the ones I had forced this winter. The ones from last year are coming up too. Lovely bouquet Martha!
