Linderhof

Gardening, Cooking and Decorating on the Prairie of Kansas

Welcome to Linderhof, our 1920's home on the prairie, where there's usually something in the oven, flowers in the garden for tabletops and herbs in the garden for cooking. Where, when company comes, the teapot is always on and there are cookies and cakes to share in the larder.

A Garden Tour Tea

Our Garden Club's Garden Tour is towards the end of this month.
I'm in charge of workers for the gardens.
The Chairman of the event is a dear friend
And she had some handouts for me to pass around in my travels.
She called and asked if I would be home for she was just leaving her home.
"Of course" I said, "please stop by".

I was baking cookies when she called and so I plated up 4
still warm

White chocolate chip, Butterscotch chip cookies

Added 2 glasses of icy lemon ginger tea
(2 bags of Luisianne iced tea, 1 bag of Stash lemon ginger tea -- steep)

Paper napkins, because I was in a hurry and it is the porch

And she brought handouts for the tour
For me to pass out as I go about my travels.

And, if you're in Fort Scott on June 20th,
it is a lovely tour.
Five gardens including a garden on an Elk Ranch and a "prairie patch"
Tickets can be had the day of the tour at our Chamber of Commerce
and they're only $10!

It's Tuesday and I'm sharing my Garden Tour Tea with Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday and with Bernideen for Friends Sharing Tea.

Your garden of herbs should be on the tour. Probably has been before. What a lovely presentation.

Martha, you've just put me in the mood to make butterscotch cookies... not what I needed while I'm dieting! ;)

It looks like a lovely tour. I wish it was closer so I could go.

I hope you're having a beautiful week.

rue

If I lived near by, I'd be there. A good garden tour is always a treat!

Sounds like fun! We also have an annual Secret Gardens tour but I haven't been able to attend one thus far!

Martha, your warm from the oven cookies and iced tea look like a real treat to me. Garden tours are so lovely this time of year. Sounds like you're going to be busy. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful first week of June.

Blessings,
Sandi

Your friend sure picked the right time to visit. Homemade cookies from the oven are the best. We have a garden tour every June here, and I haven't gone yet. Maybe this will be the year . . . it sounds lovely.

What a nice summer tea party with a friend. I'm imagining a warm butterscotch cookie now--I have a good visual! :)
