There once was kitchen curtains at Linderhof
But I can't remember how long ago that was.
They were replaced by some lace valences that I brought home from Germany
(along with those Easter eggs)
But those valences are long gone, too
And for more years than I can remember,
the kitchen windows at Linderhof
Were bare naked!
Plants on the windowsills
And for a while a small collection of mustard jars
But no window covering
Until recently . . .
Curtains are homey
Especially lace curtains or crisp white ones.
(You can tell I grew up underprivileged with white curtains in almost every room)
And lurking upstairs in a box . . .
Were some Battenberg lace curtains
(all I needed was the rods)
And so I got them out
And put them up --
Over the sink
(they frame the window and the greenery outside)
Over the stove
(they make the kitchen more "homey")
Keep checking back --
to see how long the curtains last in the kitchen!
But for now, I really like the look!
Especially the white and lace framing the terra cotta pot and green leafy plant!

Beautiful curtains! The filter the light so prettily.
Pretty! Very European looking. <3
Absolutely beautiful! My sister used to have a whole line of windows behind a counter top in her old kitchen that had those curtains all the way across. She kept them closed, mostly, because the view was nothing good, but I always thought they were SO lovely.
Love the curtains! Just beautiful!
The curtains are very summery looking. I love the look.
The white curtains look lovely. Though I do like the look of uncurtained windows, as long as privacy isn't an issue. Currently I have blue and white French print toile valences in my kitchen, and roll down Roman shades of white canvas. Because privacy is very much an issue in there, and while I don't mind having the windows bare during the day, it creeps me out at night to think that someone could be out there in the dark, watching me through the windows.
